Labor Day Weekend and it's stinkin' hot here...

You can always tell when the California State Fair is going on ~ the temperature reaches triple digits. We are have power alerts and power flexes....yeah, no a/c. Temps are only around 103ish but it's not just No Cal. It's the entire state. So the idea of going to the fair and walking around; eating fried foods and drinking lemonade doesn't sound to appealing at the moment.
We are headed over to visit the girl child on Sunday. She is alone and we want cooler weather. So it works out.
As for a family reunion, I vote we rent a place at the shore. Maybe next summer? Carmen will be ready to transfer to a 4 year and Alex will be graduating. We could celebrate.

It's Labor Day and we went to the shore today (Ocean City) - not my first choice - I think kids are ready for Wildwood now, but OC is only about 45 mins away.

Weather was beautiful but windy, and we got our sunburn, pizza and french fries on the boardwalk. Traffic wasn't even that bad for the drive home.

We were talking about next summer - my neighbor rented a place down the shore and her whole family went (siblings and families) and they had a great time. Most of the smaller homes have been knocked down and replaced with duplexes or triplexes, so you can vacation with your family and stay on separate floors.
